Global Expat Network Enters Joint Venture In Asia

, a network of websites for English speakers living abroad, and Nexus, a Hong Kong-headquartered media specialist, have come together to form a joint venture, Angloinfo Asia. The venture's first product will be expat information site Angloinfo.com/hongkong, which is expected to go live this August. Further local editions of Angloinfo will be rolled out across Asia in the coming months, the companies said in a joint statement. Angloinfo and Nexus will invest equally into the Asia operation, which will initially comprise a team in Hong Kong covering content, advertising sales and marketing. “We are delighted to be partnering with Nexus. Their team have an unparalleled knowledge of Asia both from a media and from an expat point of view. By combining that expertise and knowledge base with Angloinfo's own experience and know-how we have created an exceptional company uniquely qualified to roll out the Angloinfo product offerings in Asia,” said James Jackson, chief operating officer of Angloinfo. “Angloinfo Hong Kong is a great place to begin. But we will build on that with further new sites in other parts of Asia and, in time, developing the Angloinfo brand to offer events and other customised marketing solutions,” added Tak Man, managing director of Nexus. Angloinfo, which is headquartered in Oxfordshire, UK, operates 130 websites in 43 countries for affluent expats. Nexus Media, meanwhile, specialises in sales, custom publishing, mobile and digital media as well as events creation.
